ABOUT CHAS

Chas has built a remarkable career in hair design.  He has had the pleasure of designing hair for celebrities, TV personalities, models, moguls and many life-long clients.  He has owned and operated several award-winning salons including the famed Hair Garage of the 1970’s and most recently Chas Spa and Salon at the Ritz Carlton.

A conversation Chas had early on in his career with Vidal Sassoon shaped the way he approached the profession and offered a principle that guided pivotal choices in his life.  Sassoon told the young talented designer that hair design was a noble profession.  These words rang true for Chas and years later led him to bring lasting change to the country’s salon industry.

His career and personality have garnered much attention including that of the promotional team of the movie Shampoo for his reputation as a long-haired Harley-riding stylist in the seventies.  While his battle, along with his Hair Garage partner and industry colleagues, all the way to the Supreme Court spurred the interest of Mike Wallace of 60 Minutes.  Most recently, Hollywood came knocking and Chas is in early development of a movie/television series based on his colorful life story and career which has been playful dubbed “the mad men of hair”.  Keep your fingers crossed!!
